melanie--I suspect this is individual...in my case, salt levels don't seem to change my level of water retention at all. Getting enough water should solve the problem for anyone, though--at least 11 8-ounce glasses per day for you, and water (not coffee or tea or diet rite). If you're convinced that salt is a problem for you, avoid: cheese, salted nuts/seeds, celery, and putting regular salt on your food--try Lite Salt (potassium salt) instead.
