Default for chris and joannatkins..calp boot camp

guys maybe you need a jump start.

for 3 days or a week have only lean(as lean as you can) meats and egg for your CM.NO VEGGIES.
For you RM exclude sugar, foods made with flour, corn, carrots, bananas, pinapple, potatos.
Have beans, nuts, brown rice, pasta,, sweet potatos, oatmeal, all bran, special k. fat or non fat milk (your choice), pear, apple, peaches, all berries. (all low glycemic foods)

lean meat, only, will lower insulin levels and lower in calories. with both of these factors you may see beter results, DRINK LOTS OFF WATER!!!!
aT LEAST 1 DAY(more if you like) have only fruit for starch or/and beans & fruit for starch.

try this you'll see a difference

Post I would stick to the book...

This didn't come from the book(s), I would be sure and stick to the plan that they recommend (or any plan you choose). All these plans are based in science, and when you start combining plans you are asking for trouble....

Default yes it is

the part that most dieters miss, the scentific parts.

it's all about insulin levels. That is explaned in the book. Only carbs, create the need for insulin.

low glycemic foods cause lower insulin release....so why not try make the small sacrifice to eat low glycemic foods for a while to give your body the advantage to shed pounds.

there was cad, now we have calp, etc, i am sure we will get an update in the future.........

and i do not see this as combining plans

Default Sorry lowco, I have to disagree

When you post:

"for 3 days or a week have only lean(as lean as you can) meats and egg for your CM.NO VEGGIES.
(all low glycemic foods)"

and then say that that "is" in the book......could you please point out exactly "where" and in "which" book? I agree there is more information posted on another CALP site which "might" be published in a future book. I have seen something similar to what you say. But, what I did see was for people who are extremely carbo sensitive.

JoAnn and Cris have been asking for advice; and looking at their journals, IMHO there are things they were not doing to follow the original diet in the first place. I don't think either have followed the book faithfully enough to place them in a truly carb sensitive category.

JoAnn has made the decision to go back to Atkins. I wish her the best of luck; it is more restricitive; but that may be what she needs to keep her on track. I have mentioned to Cris on more than one occasion that she needs to ditch her lc bars, and drink more water. She has said this week the lc bars are gone.

Now, Cris...your turn... LOL

You said, "GOING OUT TO EAT TOMORROW, SO IT WON'T BE GOOD" What does that mean? You think you can not go out to eat and eat a proper RW? I'll admit, I did wait a few weeks before I felt brave enough to have a RW meal out. But, if you go into the restaurant believing you will fail.....well...let's just say you are setting yourself up to do just that. You have to decide you are ready to commit 100% to this WOL. If/when that happens, IMHO, you will see consistent weight loss. You have to believe in the diet, and more importantly, you have to believe in yourself; and you have to believe that YOU are in control of this....because no matter what else is going on in your life...it is YOU that puts the food into your mouth.

And, lowco.....no offense, but, IMHO when you post your LC plan in your profile as "all of them"....it's hard for people to believe that you are not combining them.......

Guess it's time for me to get off my soapbox now........and hopefully not have to run for cover
