Question New LC - with questions

I have been on Atkins for a little over two weeks and have lost 4 pounds. I only have about 20 (now 16) to loose, so I guess it will take some time. I have a few questions.
1. I read Atkins new book just before starting and I thought
he said you COULD eat nuts on induction, yet I have read
several posts that say you can't. I have been eating
a couple of handfuls of raw almonds or pumpkin seeds
everyday. Where in the book does it say NO NUTS? Maybe
I would have lost more if I hadn't eaten them? That is one
of my rare "pleasures" now....the nuts, I really look forward
to them.

2. I have had a problem with constipation. I started taking
a mild laxitive but I know I can't stay on that. The Psyllium
products all have a lot of carbs, so I didn't want to take
them, I am talking about natural Psyllium not the flavored
kind with sugar. Do the carbs in this count on your daily
limit of 20? I would much rather eat something in my diet
that would help, than take Psyllium, any suggestions would
be appreciated. This is really a problem for me, I am talking
dayS without going! I am drinking 3 liters of water a day
by the way.

3. Even though I have dropped 4 pounds, I don't notice much
of a difference in the way my clothes fit, or in the way I
look, maybe just a tiny bit and that is disappointing. I
know that 4 pounds isn't a lot so maybe it wouldn't show?
Do any of you know the correct way to measure yourself,
like, where do you take your hip measurement or your
bust measurement? THANKS FOR THE HELP, I LOVE
THE SUPPORT HERE!!

Hi Char,

I am fairly new too, and as of induction end had lost 8 lbs, and I swear, I couldn't tell anywhere. clothes all seemed to be fitting the same. It is odd, because normally if I would lose 8#, I could tell in my pants. I am a bit baffled by this also.

And, i have the same questions on the metamucil/psyllium. I'm hunting for a thread on metamucil, i know it's out here, and I have to find it.

I am not answering your questions here, but it's funny I have the same questions!! I thought you could eat what you want on induction as long as you don't go over your 20 gm. I think that is what the newer books say, my book has a blue cover, and it seems there are way too many editions, and who knows which one someone might be referring to.

I'm going to watch this thread, hoping someone can explain the loss of #, but not seemingly loss of inches.
