Default Cheese Chips

Does anyone know if you can make cheese chips using Kraft cheese slices and microwaving them? This maybe be somewhere in the threads, but I couldn't find one that used the Kraft slices. Thanks.

I tried it and found that I had to double up the slice I made 5 pieces per slice of American cheese. Put it on parchment paper in the microwave for about 45 seconds

You have to use the deluxe American slices, not the kind that come wrapped in plastic (deli cheese or Kraft's Deli Deluxe both work). One slice cut into four pieces will give you chips about the size of a saltine; I cut mine into sixteen. Cut a piece of parchment paper to fit your microwave, then nuke for about 40 seconds. Once done, let them cool for about a minute, then store. You can also do this with monterey jack slices.

I have tried just about every kind of cheese for crisps, and BY FAR, the best is the brand they sell at Sams, I think it may be Sargento, in the pre-sliced form, Muenster. 55 seconds in my microwave and it's PERFECTLY crispy, buttery, salty....LOVE it. It so much easier than tryng to spread the shredded stuff out. Just peel off a slice and pop it onto parchment paper. I put mine on paper towels after coming out of the microwave, too.
