Default Help - flour substitute

Can I pick your brains for a flour substitute?

Have tried soy flour ( not my cup of tea) and almond meal (is this the same as almond flour? ) and was wondering if there is something that will have the same texture (and tastelessness) as flour when cooked?

Thanks

Nuttymum

Hi Nuttymum,

From my experience, you may need different substitutes based on what you are trying to do. Some substitutes work for bread, some for breading, and some others for dessert. Best advice I can give, is check the low-carb recipes page from the menu above. I have successfully found a decent bread recipe, based on flaxmeal and almosnd meal, plus whey protein (recipe titled "Shepherd's Loaf"). Others have added good substitutes for breading and pancakes, etc. So it's more like a recipes for each each case, since nothing will match flour, except flour.
