Default Hypoglycemic

I was reading about "hypoglycemic" and it was the same symptoms I was feeling the dizziness etc. It said to drink a glass of orange juice and it will make you feel better. I did that and
I felt better. I don't know what to do.

Kristyn did you see my reply to your original post about dizziness? Have you had your BP checked? Is it possible you're coming down with the flu? Are you taking supplements?

If you are indeed hypoglycemic having that OJ may have set off a roller coaster effect. After you eat something sweet and carby you'll feel fine, then you wont. As quickly as your insulin shoots up it will drop back down and you'll be right back where you started. LC actually helps control hypoglycemia by regulating your insulin levels. Eating 6 smaller meals and spacing out snacks during the day makes LC work even better for hypoglycemics.

Went to the clinic this morning. My blood pressure is good. I never told the doc of this WOE didn't want any flack getting enough of it from my sister. He said it could be a viral infection
and if its not better in a weeks time to go to my family doctor. I guess i'm paranoid never felt like this and it's no fun.

Default hypoglycemia

Blasting your system with a sudden dose of sugary carbs (such as juice) is harmful .... it makes you feel temporarily "better" from the rapid rise in blood sugar .... but the result will be a corresponding rapid rise of INSULIN in response, which will ultimately drive the blood sugar down again, possibly lower than it was before ... the repeated yo-yo'ing of blood sugar and insulin up and down ultimately leads to insulin resistance ... and a permanent condition of reactive hypoglycemia.

The generally accepted diet for hypoglycemia is low-carb .. even the high-carb gurus agree on this. Avoid ALL sugar, sweet fruits and juices, refined white flour, starches and breads. You must eat smaller meals and snacks more frequently, and ensure that you have some protein with EVERY meal and snack. If you feel a hypoglycemic episode coming on, you must eat some PROTEIN right away. The liver will convert what your body requires to glycogen, without stimulating the release of insulin.

Reading one of your previous posts .... you mentioned dizziness to the point of vomiting. Your doctor may be right about the virus ... and be aware that dizziness with the room spinning, and vomiting are common signs of inner ear infection or inflammation ... and there isn't necessarily pain involved.

Default How long have you been LC'ing

How long have you been LC'ing?
I had bouts of dizziness the first
couple of days, but it was the
withrawal from carbs.

The spells are getting less and less
as the days go by. I am starting
my 3rd week today. I also have
Hypoglycemic tendencies.
