Default Anyone else use Stevia as a sweetner?

I finally found a packet of Stevia seeds to "hopefully" grow my own Stevia plant. I found it at Walmart.

I know it's all natural and has been used safely in Japan and other countries for many many years, but do you know if it spikes the bloodsugar at all?
I've been using it for my herbal tea. It's amazing that no more than the size of a pinhead will sweeten a whole cup.

And when, and IF, I get the pant growing, do I just toss in a leaf? Anyone know?

Damn!
I was at walmart today, I would of picked up that plant packet today if I saw it. What a great idea, to grow your own, I would love to give it a try!

My mom's hairdresser grows the plants, then throws a leaf into her tea to sweeten it.

I use stevia, but get the packets from the healthfood store, since anything I try to grow usually dies!

I've heard that it won't spike the blood sugar. I have some seeds but haven't started them yet. I don't have much luck growing plants (I guess it would help if I would remember to water them!) but stevia is one I would love to have.

Thank you for the link. I didn't even know it was there.

I found the packets on a clip strip where the seeds were. If you can't find them, you may have to ask the people in charge of the gardening area.
