Thumbs up Finally REAL SCIENCE

[FONT=Verdana][SIZE=4][COLOR=DarkGreen]
As a medical writer I have been looking for some real science on this subject (I don’t like getting my science from Dan Rather or the National Enquirer). A colleague sent me an announcement of the FIRST major science/medical conference on this subject. Its being held at Kingsbrook Hospital in cooperation with Downstate Medical School. Downstate is a most prestigious medical school and part of the SUNY (State University of New York) system.

Best of all the speakers are the real luminaries in the field. This is perfect for any medical doctor (CME credits offered), medical researcher, medical student, science writer, scientist or anyone with real interest in the subject.

I have spoken briefly to one of the conference organizers (Dr. Richard Feinman at Downstate) and he is a well published respected science researcher seeking a body of knowledge you would think would exist by now. I have no connection with the conference but I post it for those that are interested they can go to their web site located at http://downstate.edu/kingsbrook/ and ask to be added to their mailing list.

Thumbs up

All science is very welcom on the LC subject.

Keep us informed, but be prepared for battle, for it were also scientists who threatened to put Galilei on the stake, so science is a somewhat relative concept!

Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center will be running a conference on
Nutritional and Metabolic Aspects of Low Carbohydrate Diets which I think
would be of interest to other members.

Can we advertise this on the lowcarbers website or otherwise circulate the
message. The first of its kind the conference has outstanding scientists
in nutritional and biochemical fields.

I hope the conference isn't ignored or critiqued because the sponsors are from vested interests, such as Atkins, and Beef industry. After all, we would be pretty sus if the conference was sponsored by PETA.
