Default Substitute for protein drinks

I need some advice. I am in induction of SBD which means carbs are mainly veggies and low-fat yogurt or cottage cheese. So I am wondering what to have on weights days when I need a quick intake of protein. I was losing weight the first week on SBD, then started BFL, and I found as soon as I started drinking the shakes I stalled.

I think this may be because I am putting on muscle but could this have worked so quickly? Also, is there anything other than protein shakes I can take to the gym? I have tried taking some yogurt in a container and stirring in two scoops of powder and this was fine but if this is making me stall, I would like to find a substitute.

I had a few carbs last Saturday so I am carrying on with Phase I for two more weeks and then I move to Phase II which allows fruit and slow introduction of carbs.

What about just plain cottage cheese? It's got readily digestible protein and not that many carbs.

Great, I'll try that. I expect 1 cup might be enough to provide me with some protein after my workout. Thanks.

I thought the good thing about cottage cheese is that it is slow release protein, whereas whey is fast release..... which means whey straight after workout to get to the muscles ASAP, and cottage cheese (or caseium) before bed to sustain them through the night.

Maybe it wasn't the protein drink, but too much protein in general? Since too much protein will be partly digested by your body like sugar. Try to keep the recommended ratio of fat/protein/carb.
