Default Starbuck's New Light Frappuccinos!

Starbucks launched Light Frappuccinos yesterday. These will have less calories and less sugar than the regular ones. Some of the sugar will be replaced with Splenda.

Since these appear to not be sugar-free, they will probably not be low carb. However, for Frappuccino lovers (like me), it provides a healthier alternative to the regular Frappuccinos.

I LOOOOOVE Fraps! But I haven't had one in quite some time. What I do is get a Venti Iced coffee and add some half and half and perhaps a sugar free shot if I'm feeling crazy
But still they SUCK! Why can't they just make one with splenda?!? That's kind of like the new 1/2 calorie 1/2 carb coke. Still too much sugar to be worth it.
Thanks for posting though

I was just reading about these in the Low Carb Luxury Magazine and the writer said that although they will have fewer carbs than the original frap they will contain between 30 and 60 carb depending upon the flavor (can that be true?). That's way too many carbs for me. Just thought I'd let you know.

Hi,

I read somewhere that they had been working on developing them for the last 2 years and have tested them in California.

In the research section someone who works for starbucks replied and I think she said it has like 15-20 carbs per drink.

to find the exact carb counts, go to this website and scroll down to "frappucino light blended coffee", then click compare all.

I checked the website before trying one out. They are 40% lower in carbs than the regular fraps. I tried the lite coffee frap and it had approximately 21 carbs. It was actually really good but i definitely wouldn't have one everyday. More for a treat to myself every now and then.

Wow I can't believe the regular frappuccinos contain so many carbs. Yikes, I'm just thinking I would sometimes drink one or two a day! Sometimes it would be the Star Bucks Cafe Mocha, but I'm sure it has just as many carbs.
