I've been stalled around 3 months and have been feeling tired and fatigued lately. I thought maybe I should up my carbs but have been afraid to since I am not losing.
Well, last weekend I was working outside and when I straightened up I almost passed out! I thought omigod - low blood sugar? Then it occured to me that these are also the symptoms of dehydration, which made more sense since I was in Phoenix AZ and had eaten a good breakfast not too much earlier.
I thought I had been drinking enough water, but I increased this from ~2L to almost 7/day - that's right, 7. I also increased potassium - I started taking 4 pills/day, they are 595mg potassium gluconate, which = 99mg elemental potassium. Seems like a lot but I found this amount recommended in the Protein Power Lifeplan book.
So, 3 days later, I seem to have lost almost 2 lbs and feel much better already. I can hardly believe this. All this before TOM which is supposedly a difficult achievement for a 30-something woman
I wanted to share this because I too have read umpteen threads about the importance of water and K but I guess didn't realize just how critical these things are.
btw, how do I manage to get all that water down? I am a hiker, so I grabbed my 3L hydration bladder from my pack and filled it up. I just haul it around with me and suck it down as I go. This makes it so easy. I am hoping this trend will continue. I have seen several posts here about similar problems, maybe this will help someone else.
