Default almonds...sunkist california brand

I'm just wondering about these almonds I just bought. They have 5 grams of carbs and 4 grams of dietary fibre...which makes them 1 gram for a 1/4 cup serving. Would it be ok to have a couple of servings a day? I was thinking that it is a good source of protein and fat. Any suggestions on how many I can have. I'm still doing induction. I only generally eat between 13-15 grams of carbs a day. Thank you for any input.

Nuts in any form are not allowed on induction.

1 carb per 1/4 cup sounds a little low. According to the Atkins online carb counter (http://atkins.com/global/carb-count...?cat=condiments), almonds have 1.4 net carbs per 2T. I would think there are more than 2T in a 1/4 cup, but you can always measure.

And no, no nuts on Induction. At least not in the first two weeks. After that, though, they are a good source of protein and fat, and fiber.

I'm just going by whats on the back of the package...and according to that...there is 1 gram for 1/4 cup. I have only added in almonds...I been doing induction for 10 weeks now. I've lost 32 lbs so far...so I haven't noticed a stall yet anyway. Thank you for the info.

Some products labels already have the fiber deducted. Try entering the numbers into the hidden carb calculator to find out for sure. I have always counted 1/4 cup of almonds as 3 carbs. (according to FitDay)

Congrats on your wonderful success!

you may be suprised but it came out to be under 1 gram...like .96 something. I was surprised when I read the back of the package. There says nowhere on the lable that they had already taken the dietary fibre off already. So...I guess I will have my servings and see if it causes a stall. Thanks again for your help!

hmmmmm, interesting. I wish that there were stricter limitations on package labeling, would make this whole thing a lot easier LOL! Best of luck!
