Default Bacon Questions

I love bacon. I eat about 4-8 pieces per day, 5 or 6 times per week. It is regular (lower fat) Oscar Mayer. Any one have opinions as to whether bacon is bad for someone, and if it inhibits weigfht loss because it is so fatty. I have went for 260 to 218 in 3-4 months on a low carb diet, all the while eating bacon. I am a 40 year old male, 6 ft 3 inches.

Thanks for any opinions!!!

Regards,

Ken

I miss my bacon when I skip it some mornings. I use a low sodium style from Costco. Would hate to give it up

I am totally addicted to Bacon. Sometimes I have as much as a pound a day. I lost 60 pounds in just 6 short months eating all the bacon my heart desired.

The costco brand is fantastic. You can get four individually wrapped pounds for just 7.75 total, which is about a third of what you pay at the grocery stores.

And kmdp, I cannot stress to you strongly enough that you MUST get this "low fat diet" notion out of your head. The atkins way means that you eat fat to get skinny.

Low fat food, as intellectually appealing as the concept may sound, is a disaster. Look at how obesity levels in this country have soared since that fad caught on.

I've been buying nitrate-free bacon only sparingly at the health food store because of the cost...I'm so glad you mentioned the low sodium bacon at Costco!

Maybe we need to create a new catch phrase. "Eat fat, lose weight".

DH and I eat bacon several times a week with breakfast. Hasn't stalled either one of us. We love it with our eggs.

I buy the low sodium bacon and make it in the morning. After drying on a paper towel I pit it in a ziplock in the fridge for the day.Fresh bacon on my salad during lunch and some to top chicken and cheese or beef for dinner.Really gives a meal that added YUMM.
