You've been given excellent advice in your journal. Induction is not just a matter of staying under 20 carbs. If you eat foods other than those "prescribed" for Induction, you can still experience rises in insulin, which causes weight gain.
The best Atkins book to read is the latest edition of Dr Atkins' New Diet Revolution. It doesn't only spell out what exactly you can and can't eat on Induction, it gives a lot of other info besides. I strongly recommend you read it.
