Talking I really want to succeed!

Hello to everyone!

A few years ago my parents tried this WOE. They didn't succeed because as soon as they lost the weight, they stopped.

I want to prove, that this WOL can be healthy and successfull.

About 2 years ago, my mother-in-law gave me the book "Protein Power." I scanned through it, but just wasn't committed at the time.

Now, I'm ready. I'm tired of hurting. Tired of being tired. I can't even begin walking or exercising, because my knees hurt. I don't want my children to be embarrassed when they introduce me to their friends. I want to wear pretty clothes again. I want my husband to look at me 'THAT WAY' again.

So, here I am, looking for support and companionship. I pulled the book down and dusted it off. I'll start to read it today.

So, I guess my question would be, "What should I make for dinner tonight?"

THanks to everyone!

Default Welcome

Hey "CrazyMom" and welcome to a very wonderful site. I have been coming here for a couple of months and believe me it has been the information and inspiration here that have kept me lowcarbing. If I have a question, it is answered and if I falter, someone will give me a boost. So, glad you're here and do visit daily because it will be a tremendous help. I know how you feel about wanting your kids to be proud of you. Mine are my biggest fans now and they encourage me at every meal. As for dinner tonight, how about grilled chicken breasts or chops, grilled veggies and a small salad? You'll be surprised how innovative you will become. The "Recipes" section here is great too. Well, good luck and we're all on the same journey!!
Cheers, Lara

hi crazymom and welcome! i'm so glad that you're going to try lowcarbing. you'll find great support and ideas here. we've so many well-informed people! why not make a meatloaf w/out the bread crumbs or a roast chicken. that way you have leftovers to snack or lunch on tomorrow. add a nice big salad with a delicious full fat salad dressing!

Thanks for all the suggestions and support. Actually I thought of another question. I have to go out of town to teach a training class, and I have to fly from one coast to another. What are some good snacks that I can take while in induction. Any ideas would help.

Welcome to a whole new life!

I understand your dilemma. The induction phase is the hardest when travelling. Being an avid camper, I found the same problem.

Here's what I brought with me:

Pork Rinds (they are not the most flavourful, but at least they are crunchy)

Mini Baby Dells - Costco has the best deal on these. They are the perfect cheese snack.

Pepperonis and Landjaegers!!! Definitely need these two!

If you like pickles, they are good to bring too. (Make sure there is no sugar).

Don't forget to bring lots of bottled water with you.

Hope that helps a bit.
