Default Aspartame: Does it have an effect on insulin?

If aspartame can fool your taste buds then does it also fool the pancreas? I drink alot of diet soda with no effect to my weight loss but am concerned b/c Diabetes runs in my family.
thanks

Depends on the person. For some yes, a sweet taste will start an insulin flow.

Also, I find that, for myself, using Aspartame (Equal, Nutrasweet) triggers really strong sugar cravings.

Splenda or stvia is the best. Try drinking Diet rites. No caffine and no aspartame

I find ANY sweetener, even Splenda and stevia, trigger strong cravings and insulin release. It really does depend on the individual, though.
