Default How many weigh daily?

I know that weighing weekly is a better practice than daily.....

But, I'm a patient man in every area of my life EXCEPT weight-loss!

The scales are the first thing I see in the morning when I wake up and it's just become a habit to step on and record my weight.......good or bad.......

What about you.......Daily, Weekly, Hourly, every other day?

Bill.........310/269/225.......41 pounds.....75 days......

I find that if you weigh every day you just get dissapointed so I would say that it is better to weigh once a week.

I have not weighed myself at all. Now I wish I had. I see the doctor every six monthes for my arthritis, and I thought the nurse might mention my loss at my last visit, but she did not. To be fair, I have told her in the past that I did not want to know. Next visit, I will maybe be ready to ask. I like the way I look and the way my clothes fit, but the numbers scare me.

I admit that I weigh daily, but I also don't let the ups and downs of the scale freak me out; it's expected. I take an "official" weight once a month a week or so after TOM and update my stats based on that.
Personally, I think if seeing the numbers on the scale bounce up and down upsets and frustrates you, you should stay off it and measure or use a previously tight piece of clothing to gauge your progress instead.

I weigh every morning since I chart my losses/gains in a database I created for myself. Good to see overall progress in the reports I have made for myself.

I am with Lisa N. I weigh everyday but I don't have a problem with a 2 pound gain over night either. If I did I would not weigh everyday. But I expect the ups and downs. Here lately they have been all downs and I am very happy about that but there will come a morning that I will be 2 or 3 pounds up and I just let it go I know it is not there to stay, I wont let it!!!!!!

It depends on you. If you can handle not losing each day, or the occasional day when you go up, go ahead and weigh once a day. I actually do it twice, once in morning for weight, and once in evening for body fat %.

CAD recomends weighing daily, but takeing the weekly average. This way if you have a day where you are retaining water, and it happenss to be your weekly weigh in, you're not so shocked by an inaccurate weight. The average helps to see things moving down, even when the scale bounces around like mad.

There is a related question: How often do you check the mirror to see if you look thinner?
