Thumbs up new Atkins way of lifer here

I started doing Atkins on January 5/2004, not for the first time though. I tried it about 7 months ago and didn't do very well. I think I wasn't emotionally ready. I'm doing so much better this time. It has been four days and I fell wonderful already. I had a headache for the first couple of days but after starting the Basic #3 supplement, I'm feeling a lot better. I think It's going to be a lot better this time. I decided not to weigh myself until a week after starting, I might even wait until the end of the 2nd week. Depends on how curious I get...lol. I bought the ketosis testing strips and yestarday I tested and it says that I'm at the highest...dark purple...is this possible? Anyway, I can't wait to get to know you all and look forward to giving and receiving great advice.

Welcome! Glad you joined us here on the forum. The dark on the ketosis stick can be a sign of dehydration. Are you getting in all the water that you are suppose to have? The stick doesn't have to be at the darkest shade. You are either in ketosis or not and the shade doesn't matter. The water is very important but if you are drinking it I wouldn't worry about it.

Hi and welcome! That "emotional readiness" is a big factor, isn't it?

Good plan on waiting to weigh in. A lot of people get too concerned with the numbers, and forget how much better they feel.

Best of luck!
