You are pretty darn close to your ideal weight for someone 5'4". You will lose more slowly the less you have to lose. What is the "no rice" plan you have referenced? Why are you desperate?

by ideal weight, she means health-wise, not what YOU want to see in the mirror. at 5'4", 112lbs is probably underweight for you. have you ever weighed that much at this height? and how old are you? age has an impact too.

which plan are you wondering if you are following correctly? i've never heard of the "no rice" plan, but if that's "no rice" and you are eating "no rice" it sounds like you are following that plan, but it's not resulting in weight loss.

if you want to follow the atkins plan, you must meticulously track what you eat and how many carbs what you eat contains.

your profile says that you've read the atkins book. i suggest looking at the induction chapter again and making certain that you are following those rules to a t. if not, it will affect your loss.

also, please keep in mind that atkins or any other LC plan is NOT a "quick fix" solution to weight loss. it is about making a change in the way you are eating FOR LIFE.

How big is that salad at the meal? Despite the rep Atkins has as the all-the-bacon-you-want diet, it is best to eat a lot of the allowed vegetables for the best health AND weight loss.
Chill out. If you aren't having eating issues already, this kind of attitude is sure to create them. Then you have two problems to deal with.

Default Have you read DANDR ???

If not, I recommend you read the book first.

It could be you're not eating enough - at least not enough veggies - and not enough fat. You need 20 NET carbs, (that's carbs minus fiber). I had about the same menu as you. Until I started using Fitday (www.fitday.com) I was so sure I was doing it right. Well, I was wrong, I didn't deduct the fiber and it turned out my net carb level was 10-15 carbs. This is not a "count calories" WOE, but I found I needed to control that as well. Atkins recommend 10-12 times your current body weight pr day in calories. (I received this long e-mail from Atkins Support when I asked them for tips to break my 8 weeklong stall) I was having less than 1100 most days. Now I'm averaging around 1500 - 1700 calories. I have been told the recommended breakdown is 70 % fat, 25 % protein and 5 % carbs.

There could be a lot of reasons for you not losing weight. Medications, yeast infection, allergies.......

If you start using Fitday and post a link here, I'm sure somebody will go through it for you and make suggestions. Then at least you'll know IF your're doing anything wrong foodwise.

Weight loss is NOT linear, but if you are doing everything right, the trend is almost always downward.

During Induction, you can REASONABLY expect to lose ~10-15% of the total you need to lose. This means that if you have 100 pounds to lose, 10-15 pounds is very reasonable Induction. If you have 25 to lose, 2.5-4 pounds is not out of the question.

Not everyone will lose at the same rate, especially during Induction. A lot depends on how your metabolism is 'set' and how many times you've yo-yo'd before, and on and on.

I expect the people I consider specialists in this forum will join soon. There are so many people here ready to help you. So don't give up - just hang in there !!!

I would try to find a way to get more fats into your food. (And maybe cut out the hotdog at breakfast. Just cause I thinks hotdogs for breakfast sounds ick.)

Well, not only because it sounds ick, but there are a lot of extars in it. There are better food choices out there.
But Really, follow through on the fitday.com advice. Make sure you get you fats into the 70% ranges.

Its not that the hotdog is bad, just not the best. I just wouldn't have it on a daily basis

You could try adding some alvocado in your salad. Bacon, is pretty good. I eat a handfull of Macadamia nuts every day to help keep my fats up. This work good for me. Some people out there will even just down a tablespoon of olive oil. (Talk about ick)

Patricia, I didn't mean to sound so harsh in my post above. I apologize. This forum really is about support.

One thing that might be masking your loss is water retention from the salt in hotdogs, etc. So if you take the above advice to limit hotdogs, make sure you are eating enough, eating enough fat, and other tips, you should see results.

Hi ya,
you could add good fats like Flax oil.. you can use it on your steamed veggies or salad.. good omega oils..

Girly Girl is right, you will need to watch the water retention you get due to processed meats.. even some deli meat can cause you to retain water.. and bacon too....

You may not want to hear this, but I too agree that maybe you dont have all that much weight to lose, and it is really hard to get it off.

Have you tried other approaches too.. like maybe what you are really after is toning up abit more?

cheers,
j
