Unhappy Just started an already have a question

Today is day one for me on the Atkins program.
I did all my research yesterday and even went shopping. I put together food for today and just want to check and see if I have the right idea.

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs and 3oz streaky bacon

snack:
0.5 cup cucumber and 1oz cream cheese

Lunch:
1 cup lettuce, 0.5 cup cucumber, 7 oz (raw weight) diced cooked chicken and 1.5 table spoons mayonaise

snack:
2.5oz tuna in olive oil

Dinner:
Meatballs - 6oz (raw weight) ground beef, 0.5 egg and 0.5 cup zucchini

snack:
20 olives and 2 oz edam cheese

This comes to a total of 1542 calories - 61% fat, 36% proteins and 3% carbs (16 grams)

As a former low-fat calorie counter, the fat amount obviously scares me.
Is it about right?
Is there anything I should add or take away?

Hi there Rogue, welcome!

The only thing you should add is....more fat! Really. It's hard for all of us to come to terms with when we first start, but the fat is important. You'll find you'll do a little better if you can increase your fat to 65 to 70%.

You could add butter to your vegies, for example, or have a bit more salad dressing than 1½ tbsps.

BTW, have you seen the Oz/NZ section of the forum here yet? In case you haven't here is the link: http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=43

Cheers.

Rosebud

Talking Thanks!

I guess I just need the reassurance that what I'm doing - which seems so unnatuaral - is the right thing in this case.

looks pretty good to me. watch what kind of lettuce you are using - a lot of them (like iceberg) are pretty worthless, nutrition-wise. i've fallen in love with spinach greens - 1 gram of carb per cup, almost as much fibre, and all kinds of other goodies!
