Goal maintenance reward = cosmetic surgery!
I recently indulged and got cosmetic surgery, targeting my upper lip. It’s my reward for being able to maintain my weight for this long.
As an ex-smoker, I have a permanent pucker with vertical lines (about 6 of them) going from the edge of my upper lip in the direction of my nose. This part of my face shows more “age” than the rest of my face.
I am thrilled with the results. It’s not a collagen treatment, as the doctor will not use collagen on the first 2-3 sessions. Firstly, he wants to be sure I like the new “look”. Secondly it could cause a potential allergic reaction, so you have to be allergy tested for it. So the implant is of a temporary substance that the body reabsorbs after 3-6 months.
I was warned that not everybody finds it successful and it tends to soften the wrinkles and creases as opposed to erasing them entirely. Which is what I wanted anyway.
I am thrilled with the results - here are 2 pics – a before and after.
