Cool My cheat-pancake syrup

Well guys,

I was eating Jones sausage and found it to be too "animaly". Anyway, I added a small line of pancake syrup to it and it tasted great! It probably counts as 5 carbs and 3 sugars at the most. I feel that since it keeps me on the plan it allright to do. I have also added it to other types of sausage which seem to bland. I'm still losing and doing "small cheats" like this keeps me on the diet. I also allow myself 2 Mike and Ike's candies (gel capsules) per day for dessert after dinner.

Log Cabin has a sugar free syrup made with Splenda. It has more carbs than Atkins but my DH likes the taste better.

I havent seen the log cabin syrup at my store, I wish it was there. I had atkins and although I used it a few times I threw it out. It wasnt worth it to me. Yuck. I remember way back someone said it tasted like monkey pee and you know what it did. My mom in Florida also threw hers out recently , she used it for a while then thought. Yuck , why am I making myself eat this stuff. I bought davincis pancake and it isnt that hot either. but I used it. I will try it on my sausage though, next time, I have only used it on pancakes.

we all have our small cheats.. In small doses and keeping the carbs low overall, if you are still losing then that is great!

yesterday I had low carb cereal (keto brand) and had to have real milk with it. 1/2 cup. Soy milk is not for me! That is my small cheat. This morning the scale
did not show me worse for the wear....

now if I had eaten frosted flakes with that milk.....

For me, the "small cheats" add up too easily, and IMHO I'd rather use 3 or 4 grams of carbson other things. To each their own. If that's what you want, and you're still losing, I won't lecture.

I use Cozy Cottage sf syrup. It has the closest texture to real syrup that I've found.

I use keto syrup and keto ketchup. I haven't any others that compare. But then again it might be just me.

there are some great low carb candies, or even sugar free candies would be better. You can still treat yourself without ruining your diet. Still eating sugar is going to keep your body addicted to it.

Another thing don't buy Jones sausage , if its gross. If it was that yucky toss it . Everyone has their slip ups. I have had mine. And I have realized that even though I have had a few cheat meals or desserts, I still lose a few lbs a month. I taste things that have sugar like regular bbq sauce , I have had a bubble gum and they didnt send me over the deep end. and I still lose a few lbs every month. So, dont worry about it. Just go back on track and you will continue to lose.

Default Log Cabin SF

I have some of the Log Cabin SF syrup and was wondering if someone could clarify the carb count for doing Atkin's? The lable says 35 calories, 12g carb, and it also says 12g Sugar Alcohol( Sorbitol 9g, Maltitol 3g). When doing Atkins, does this count as a zero carb food? Or have they already subtracted the sugar carbs? I'm a little confused on it, so I charged myself 4 carbs for 1 Tbsp just to be safe.

I use the DaVincis pancake syrup. it is thinner and not quite as flavorful, but gives the taste. When it soaks into the pork rinds french toast, its not bad at all ...

I use Jimmy dean sausage... and it doesn't taste "animally" to me... just my two cents...

I don't like the atkin's syrup... it is so thin... doesn't quite soak into the pancakes the same way... or maybe it is the atkin's pancakes that are the culprit??

Either way... experiment with other sf products in the line of syrup... you might be suprised how good some of them are..

I buy Carey's n/s syrup at Walmart in the Diebetic section I quite like it. Plus it is cheaper (1/3 of the cost) of Atkins!!
