Arrow Oh look at this! Do you love Pecans and nuts?

I found an (above average) website that is all about pecans.
It gives health reports showing how pecans and other nuts are beneficial. But it also has recipes for using pecans, buying on-line info and all sorts of misc. reading that shows you how to store nuts and so on.
Since nuts are one of the healthiest foods someone on a low carb diet can eat, and pecans being one of the lowest carb nuts besides macadamias, I thought I would tell everyone about this website.

I wondered if anyone Else ever ate Pecans -- I see notes about Macademias, Almonds, Peanuts, but rarely about Pecans.

Everything I've read about them indicates that they are VERY low carb -- especially if you subtract the fiber.

I have a s-i-l with a back yard full of pecan trees -- gotta say its much cheaper to trade home made soap for pecans than it is to buy macedemias at the store! (Plus macademias seem to make me gain weight)

Is there something I'm missing about Pecans that's not good?

Almonds, pecans, and macadamias are standard fare around my house. I keep large packages of all three around for snacking.

Mix 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 t oregano, 1 t garlic salt, 1/2 t rosemary, 1/2 t cracked black pepper - stir well.

Melt 3 or 4 T butter in a large skillet, add 2 cups
almonds, 1 or 2 cups pecans, 1/2 cup brazil nuts, stir to coat w/butter. Add the spice mix, stir well. Add a splash or 3 of worchestershire sauce, turn off heat, continue to stir & toast the nuts for a few minutes. Store in a tightly covered jar. I bring these to parties, add to salads, etc...

I'll combine butter and SF DaVinci's Syrup in a skillet and then toss in some pecans and coat them. YUM! Add a little bit of whipped cream and wow - a quick, yummy and easy treat

Pecans are my fav. I do something similar - put a small handful of pecans, a few dots of butter, a little splenda and cinnamon in a small microwaveable dish, and 'nuke' them for a minute or so.

I'm actually allergic to almost all nuts...EXCEPT PECANS! go figure...well you can guess my nut of choice? I have recently added nuts to the menu, but have the same problem many have, of being able to limit them to a small portion. I could NEVER have a big bag in the house. I buy small bags (100 grams) of pecans and try to turn that into 2 or 3 servings if possible!
