Hi there swtdrae,

Here's a link to the Atkins website's suggestions for eating Chinese: http://atkins.com/Archive/2001/12/17-614000.html

You can make some chinese orange chkn yourself, here's how:

1/4 Cup Olive Oil
1/4 Tsp Orange Extract
2 Pks Splenda
Sea Salt - Pinch

Mix all the ingredients together. Marinate your boneless ckn in it and you can either cut it up and fry it or put it on the grill, but when you cook it on the grill make sure you use foil under it or it will burn off all the flavor.

It really hits the spot !

I sometimes get shrimp w/broccoli or I make my own version of chicken with pepper (one mediume red& 1 medium green) and scallion. I add 3 tabelspoons of soy sauce. It totals about 21carbs, but serves 2 people.

My chinese place has been nice about me ordering food with no cornstarch or other starch, sugar, etc. The sauce is more watery but it still has the same great flavor!!

I would love to have a General Tao LC chicken receipe. I've looked on all the site and can't find one, any one tried it?

pjaye general tao's is coated with a breading so I don't know how you would do that unless you used something like Atkins bake mix and maybe the recipe I posted above.

Sorry I can't help you on this one...... Actually I'd love to have the recipe too drooool !!

Thanks leenie. I had saved your orange chicken receipe, that's our second favorite and I'll try it with Atkins breading. Right now were just hoping to have power before Isabel is over with. Put chicken breast in crockpot last night so we would have something fresh today in case power went out. I'll let you know how my adaptation of General Tao turns out.

Pjaye, good luck thru the storm, hope everyone is safe. We are expecting the winds and rains up here. Mostly the ground is very soggy b/c of all the rain we've had this summer so they are expecting lots of down trees and power outages. We are going to be cooking some stuff tonight so we will have food ready for tomorrow.

Hugs and YES I'd love to know how the recipe turns out....nummy !!

Hugs

The Chinese place by me has a special low carb section. No sugar, cornstarch, and even no salt. And they don't serve it with a side of rice either like I have seen at other places. Plus free delivery.
