Default Unbelievable!

Hi everyone--I would just like to report that after being on the Atkins diet for 11 weeks, the change in my lipid levels is astounding! I had them checked before I started--well, actually about 3 months ago... and re-checked last week. My triglycerides have dropped from 415 to 95 (yesssss!) and my cholesterol from 222 to 192. Also, I discontinued my lipitor and HCTZ (diuretic) about 5 weeks into the diet (NO--I am NOT recommending anyone do this without checking it out medically), and my blood pressure is now in the normal range without them. I've now lost about 20 pounds. I have cheated on occasion with an ear of corn (what Minnesotan can resist that in August...), perhaps excess fruit, one "regular" meal at a wedding. Other than that I have not found the diet difficult to follow. I have more energy, am satisfied with eating normal amounts of food, and am rarely hungry. I did go for about 2 weeks with no weight loss and became rather discouraged, but didn't quit as I rather like the diet. I also notice that since induction my weight is coming off slowly as opposed to those who are losing 3 or 4 pounds at a time, but it is tending to stay off rather than bouncing up and down. Just thought I'd offer this as encouragement.... this website has been helpful. M.
