Default Another measurement question, if you don't mind!

I've been weight training now for a couple of weeks, along with daily cardio (just walking, nothing too stressful). And I've been gaining some weight back. So I want to know whether this is a result of just eating more (I'm still on plan, but have been a lot hungrier) or of building muscle. My clothes do feel a bit looser, but we're not talking huge degrees of looseness here. So...I'm trying to measure myself as accurately as possible. My concern is that I'm pulling the tape measure too tight. The directions say, "snug." What constitutes "snug?" I can get a variance of almost an inch depending on how tightly I hold the tape. And since I have a good deal of abdominal fat, considering that I'm a small person, this is really a health issue for me.

Thanks.

Hi Rosetattoo:

Don't know if this is right, but I define snug as making sure there is no depression into the skin. That would falsely lower the measurement. You'll know if it's too loose b/c the measuring tape will feel too light. Kinda like Goldilocks, you want it just in between.

BTW, I haven't lost weight and the measuring tape isn't showing much either, but my pants are feeling really lose as well. I think that's good progress in your case. The pants feeling loose after 2 weeks. Hang in there.
