Thumbs up Good article on Atkins

hi all,

i just read an article in Health magazine regarding Atkins. i tried to find a link to it online but had no luck.

It talks about 2 studies done in The New England Journal of Medicine and by Gary Foster, Ph.D, clinical direcor of the Weight and Eating Disorders Program at the University of Pennsylvania.

The article goes on to say that once the year-long trial was done, the scientists expected to learn that the diet was unhealthy but discovered Atkins followers had higher levels of HDL cholesterol and lower levels of triglycerides than the lowfat, high carbohydrate group. Foster says, "The results showed not only that there were no harmful effects, but that there were a couple of positive ones."

It was a good article, if only one page. It even ended by saying that even though Atkins devotees might be tempted to overdo the meat, veggies like spinach, kale, green beans, and salad greens are all options listed in Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution.

So, yayyyyy! Once in awhile there IS some good press.

Take care and have fun!
