Those bars can cause stalls in some people are are not recommended for induction. I am not sure about the sugar free jello-but many people suggest getting rid of all sweet tasting stuff for the two weeks of induction.

Pickles are fine!

I agree about the bars and you might want to be cautious if the sugar free jello has aspartame in it. That can cause stalls in some people too.

How come no one said to read the book?!?!? Aspartame is evil.
I got back on the Atkins wagon lalmost 2 weeks ago, and lost five pounds in 3 days. Doing well, getting smaller, and then 8 days into it, started back with Diet Coke. Everything stopped...no inches lost, no weight lost...cravings started, with a vengence, though.

Bars and aspartame are baaaaaaaaad.

Same thing happened last time, I think, but I wasn't really paying attention. Initially, I didn't drink diet pop, because I don't really like it, but then started because I was desperate for something sweet. That's about when my weightloss stopped...I didn't gain anything, but it was very easy to quit. I convinced myself that after several months of not losing, I might as well eat french fries. And potato chips. And real coke. and a little cake.....

And 10lbs worth of other crap.

Gah.

So no, IMHO, that stuff is not ok.

these are the acceptable foods
http://atkins.com/Archive/2001/12/15-464579.html

if you stray from that list, you are doing your own program, not 'atkins'. I stuck to it and the weight fell off. I recommend that you do the same, as I have more faith in DrA's observations and results from tweaking his program for so many years on so many people..

I am still doing induction and I stay away from the sugar free jello because I think it still has aspertame in it. If you want a treat buy kool-aid and add splenda and unflavored gelatin to it and make jello that way. I have had good luck with it

My question is can we have colby/jack cheese? I love this stuff and could live on it I think. Is it legal on Atkins?

Yes, any type of natural hard cheese is permitted .. however on Induction you're limited to no more than 3 - 4 oz of cheese per day.

Stay far far away from protein bars during Induction, even if you think they're safe.
