Question Dr. Atkins

IM ATTEMPTING TO START THE ATKINS DIET AND IM TYRING TO UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TOTAL CARBS & SUGAR.
IF IT HAS SUGAR AM I NOT SUPPOSE TO HAVE IT?
ALSO I BOUGHT FROZEN SALISBURY STEAKS, THE LABEL SAYS 0g OF CARBS, CAN I HAVE THAT?
ALSO, HAS ANY ONE HEARD ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THE DR. ATKINS MORNING & ADVANTAGE BARS?

I'D GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY KIND OF HELP.
THANKS
ANGELA

Hunt around in the different threads and you'll be sure to find your answers.

If it has sugar, you don't get to eat it.
Sugar = carbs

You can have your steaks if the package says '0' carbs.

I don't know anything about the morning bars, but I eat the Advantage bars everyday and they have not stalled my weight-loss. It does for some people.

The bars are not recommended during induction (that's the advice from most people here that have been LCing longer that I), but they are deemed as okay during induction on the official Atkins web site.......so I guess you have to be the judge as to whether you can eat them or not. If you decide you will, the peanut butter is great, and so is the brownie flavour!

Good luck!!!!

Angela,

First thing you need to do is get a copy of the book titled "Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution" and read it cover-to-cover.

It is the proverbial bible that we tend to go by.
There's lots of other great books, too, but DANDR is only $8 and about the best starting block anyone could hope for.

I consider it indispensable, and I'm sure you would benefit from having it too. Without it, this WOE is definitely confusing.
