Unhappy Back....sigh....again

Well, here I am, back AGAIN for my third and hopefully last time. I just wanted to post a note and throw my hat into the ring. I have been incredibly successful on CAD in the past and do well for all the "normal" reasons. It's the only plan that I ever felt like I had any control over food on without feeling deprived. The good thing is that I haven't gained weight since I was here over a year ago, but the bad news is that I totally screwed up my eating habits when I fell off the wagon. Due to a series of emotional things going on in my life (that I won't bore you with) I turned to my old friend (ha!) food and thought that would make everything feel better. NOT!!!!!! You know how that went. Anyway...I'm back again and will be reading this board religiously. I am going to make this a WOE this time, not a "fix" and hope to get to know all of you better on this journey.

Glad to see you're back and working at it again. Everyone has stumbled, but you know the answer for you is CAD. Recommit your eating and your mind and you'll do just fine.

We're always here for you!

Congratulations, Shaerona--on your upcoming blessed event! Wishing you all the best... I've just come back to this woe, too--for about 6 weeks now.. I plan to make it permanent this time, because I know that it's just right for me. Good to meet you (I'm a Georgia "girl" too). Congrats to all of us--for making the decision to get healthy!

Oops! Sent the "best baby wishes" to the wrong person, I see! Please forgive me--both Shaerona and Jeannie F!! Congrats to you Jeannie! Shaerona--We'll just hang in there and keep on doing what we're doing, because we know it's right for us.. All the best to you.. My only (OK-my MAIN) excuse for the error is that it's 4AM. Anyone buy that?

Britony--Must be all the good southern cooking and sweetened ice tea (in our past) that brought us all together....

Oh yeah, sweet tea!! And butterbeans and cornbread. The only thing I remember eating low carb was pickled peppers on the side.

Low carb collard greens and cabbage!!! I just had collards with some side meat this evening for supper with BBQ ribs...OMG! I died and went to heaven! I had a teeny tiny one-inch square of cornbread on the side and it was delish!!! I am on day four and have lost eight pounds. This southern girl is one happy camper!

Brit,
I cook a big mess of collards and keep them in the fridge for any time....they hit the spot when I'm hungry for something and make a good side dish too. Go for it! (I'll save the cornbread for my RM too LOL)

Sherry,
They are even better the next day. My hubby (who is English) always gags when he sees me eat a big bowl of them in the mornings. It is funny how when I am dieting I obsess on the foods that I cannot have and forget some of the foods I love best are actually ok to have most any time!
