Default Shouldn't have trusted the label...

Ugh. I just ate a ton of carbs. I bought some canned dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) from the store and ate a few for lunch. It says on the label that it only has 4g of carbs per serving and 2g of fiber so I ate up. I started thinking - hey, aren't dolmas stuffed with rice? Yep, they are. I did a nutrition search on dolmas online and they are closer to 20g per serving. Ouch! I should have been more careful and not trusted the foreign label (imported from Greece). At least they were good! I'll have to make sure I'm still in ketosis when I get home tonight. I've noticed other labels being incorrect, too. I get stuff from an Indian grocery store and their cans of prepared food from India are always suspect. I saw a can of lentels that claimed to only have 5g of carbs and 5g of fiber per serving. That seemed weird. I also saw a can of creamed spinach with 2g of carbs and 4g of fiber. Can't believe everything you read, I guess.

In some countries, the fiber isn't included in the "total carbs"... and always check the serving size. Some cheese sticks with breading I got for the kids listed just 3 net carbs...GREAT! Then I look and a "serving" is TWO very small sticks....<sigh> I don't think you did permanent damage. Just pick up where you left off... you've already learned!
Good luck!

Thanks - Unfortunatly I knocked myself out of ketosis. I'll re-test tomorrow night. Hopefully no damage was done. Maybe I'll skip the scale tomorrow morning! I'm so close - only 8 more lbs to my goal!!!
