Default Question about diet soda/Splenda

I was reading the Atkins induction articles on the Atkins site and he mentions that Splenda in about 1 carb per teaspoon...Ok, I knew that. He then goes on to recomend Diet rite sodas, got them. Then he says to account for the carbs.

Here's where I am confused Diet Rite uses a liquid Splenda, and the one carb is only in granular Splenda. The label says zero of course. Is there some other carb in Diet Rite? How do i find out? Drinking a 2 litre every 3 days, so this would be ummm crucial info....

(Please god don't take away my last source of sweetness on demand)

I wouldn't worry about it, actually. I have a Diet Splenda or two everyday!

The liquid form of splenda does not contain any carb calories so you don't need to worry.

It's only the filler in the granular splenda that contains callories.

Diet Rite is made with liquid Splenda which has no carbs. That being said, diet sodas are listed as 0.3g Carbs by Nutrition Databases. This is likely because carbs are calaculated using difference. Anything that isn't Fat, Protein, Ash, or Water is counted as a carb. Since Soda (Diet and Regular) uses so many substances (preservatives, etc...) which are neither fat, protein, or carbs...the carb count is listed as 0.3g. I cannot find anything even vaguely sounding like a carb on the ingredients list. So, my assumption would be the listed 0.3g is from such substances. So, I no longer even count the 0.3g.
