Unhappy ? For women (TOM)

Has anyone being experiencing worse than normal TOM - flooding with lots of clotting and extremely bad pain? I have been on this WOE for about 6 weeks and it is my second day of TOM and I have had a full day of the works! - weakness to the point of near fainting, immense cramps, bad back - I had to take the day off work which hasn't happened since I was a teenager. Last month wasn't anywhere near this bad (1.5 weeks into the WOE) - do you think I am deficient in something? - I take a multi, b complex and calcium tablets. Please help - I can't go through this every month!

ive been on atkins since 1-21-03 and noticed most of my pms symptoms have disappeared. i no longer have breast tenderness and cramping the week before like i used to. losing the weigt really helped now i less symptoms.

but you know i just had my tom and it was a bad one this time around. but that usually happens to me sometimes - all of our cycles change they are not constantly the same.

Some people experience temporary heavy bleeding and clotting during the first few months of low carbing - on the other hand, some people experience lighter flow and less cramps.

Changing to the low carb way of eating changes the insulin levels in your body - insulin is a hormone, and can effect your cycle. Also I've heard tell that fat stores hormones, and as you loose, your fat releases hormones and effects your cycle.

Bottom line, nothing really to worry about.

Thanks Guys - I'm feeling a lot more rational today thanks for your support, what was said about insulin and cycle irregularities makes a lot of sense, so hopefully next month or two will sort things out

SweetSheri - I'm pleased that everything is Ok for you, when I was younger I was put on the pill for the same reasons and It did sort everything out (at least until this month ) but I went off it 2 years ago as I had been on it for 12 years and thought I needed some time off. May be I need to think about going back to it.... I shall think about it.

Well, I'm happy for you too........hope the pills help. I'm at my wits end though! I mean, I feel like a dam ready to burst----14 days late! I know that this WOE changes things, but I've been so amazed that it happened so quickly. I was only eating this way for 2 weeks when TOM was due.......and still waiting So I'm just amazed that only 2 weeks of LCing could affect me this way.

Tender breasts and feeling way out of sorts...........wondering if jumping off a ladder would jump start things

Default TOM

This was my first cycle after starting the LC WOL. It was a lot heavier, but the number of TOM days was shorter. I had a lot more cramps than usual, but much less clotting. I can't attribute the changes just to LC as it was my first 'real' TOM since the two cycles of fertility treatments.
