Default burning alchol

I realize the body burns alchol first before it burns fat. But does anyone know how long it take the body to say 4 beers? Lo carb beer?

I enjoy having a few mixed drinks on a Saturday or Sunday. I usually have 3-4 oz. of liquor (vodka or gin) mixed with a diet soda. When I first dared to have a drink after starting LCing, I used a ketostick to test ketones BEFORE I drank the alcohol----it was pink, then after I started drinking I tested again----it was negative and stayed that way for about 2 hours. I have done this the last few times I've drank alcohol and find that pretty much once you don't feel the effect of the alcohol anymore, it's burned up and you go back into ketosis. So, maybe a few hours after you stop drinking.

I do have another question about this, though........anyone who knows, please respond.....what I'm wondering is, once you do start to drink an alcoholic drink and your body turns to burning alcohol for fuel, what happens to the food you take in-----how is it "burned" (or not)......does the dietary fat still mostly get wasted as it does when you eat high fat, LC? Jis' wonderin'........

You don't actually go out of ketosis when you drink alcohol, as alcohol is turned into Ketones in the liver and then used as fuel. Your liver is what turns fat into ketones, but alcohol is easier to turn, so your liver takes the easy route (lazy liver!).

Just like the drinking and driving rule, it takes about an hour per drink (to burn up in your body). So four beers = four hours.
