Lightbulb and then a lightbuld came on over my head and I thought ....DUH

I know that this topic has been talked to death but....... I am like a little kid when it comes to wanting to know about something. But why? how come? ..........
So I have been LCing for 8 days now and the scales shoe no weight loss, zero, zip, nill
I read and read on these forms that it happens all of the time. I feel GREAT I feel slimer, clothes are feeling better, my husband said to me this morning OMG how much weight have you lost??? So I get back on the net and read and read and...I find in one litle section of the Atkins web site where he says....The scales may show no loss in numbers because of all of the protien that you are eating and there for adding muscle.DUH you think that I would know this since use to body build,
So now I feel ok asnd am sooo fine with it now..... So do I have it right???

Grab the tape measure. Measure weekly. Often you will see inches go when no pounds will.

Talking have to say DITTO

to the tape measure... I have weighed exactly the same for over a month now and was ready to seriously go to Stillman's or fat fast but used the tape measure on Saturday and found I had lost an inch in the bust and another inch from the hips since my last measure date 2 weeks ago. Changes aren't uniform but they are all positive ones - eventually things will even out for me but I'm celebrating every step of the way!

guidosgirl...

I think hit the nail right on the head with that. If your diet has been lacking in protein, the first thing that your body will do when it starts getting enough is to set about repairing any muscle tissue that has been lost during the time when protein was lacking and the body had to turn to its own muscle tissue to get what it needed. If you are losing fat and gaining muscle in the same amounts, the scale won't show any pounds lost, but you will certainly be able to tell with the tape measure because you will be getting smaller. 1 pound of muscle takes up a lot less space than 1 pound of fat.

I never loose weight and inches at the same time, so when the scale stops I find my pants getting bigger and the inches melting off.
