Talking Teri

First of all, get Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (not Atkins for Life that book is writen for folks who are familiar with the basic "manual"...)

Until you can get over to the book store, you might want to visit the Atkins Center on line for a list of acceptable foods during Induction.

That will get you started, but since you don't have a lot to lose you'll want to be familiarizing yourself with strategies for on-going weight loss as you finish up your 2 weeks of Induction.

As for coffee, officially it is a no-no, but lots of people can't give it up. Just increase your water intake to help flush out your system. Caffeine can also effect insulin levels, so if you're not losing, you might want to jettison the bean from your life.
(But as the single mother of a three year old, I tell you, that ain't happening around here!)

Real full fat mayo like Hellman's is okay (in fact it's down right fine) on Induction; Miracle Whip, however, has sugar and needs to be avoided.

Hope this helps,
Lisa

P.S. One of my best childhood friends lives in Farmington and I am originally from Valley Stream.
