Wink Hi, Everyone.

Hi. Just wanted to drop a quick note to introduce myself. I'm brand new to the low-carb concept. I actually just started reading the Atkins diet book (New Diet Revolution) yesterday. I haven't started the program yet but plan to read the book over the next two weeks and start the next time we go grocery shopping. My husband has been doing Atkins and lost 25+ pounds. I've tried to lose weight many times and failed many times. I had actually sworn off trying to lose weight but my 12 year old son is now overweight. He gets teased a lot and wants to get into shape. There's no way I can support him if I'm eating the way I am now. And I would love to be more energetic and not so tired all the time. I'm pretty impressed with what I've read of the program so far and it just sounds like a matter of chemistry. Anyway, I really liked these threads and plan to use this support forum as much as possible to keep on track. Thanks in advance for your help!!

Welcome to the forum!

Glad to hear that you are reading the book, and good for you for wanting to teach your son at an early age how to eat healthy and how to control his weight.

Hi

And welcome to this Forum. Congratulations on commiting to low carbing. It will also be great for your 12 year old son. Stick to only whole foods during Induction and follow it to a T or you will be disappointed if you don't lose. It's only 2 weeks...that's easy to do. I would suggest that you don't try all the Atkins stuff or the fancy recipes until you are well into losing some weight. They only slow you down and you'll get discouraged very fast. Make a firm commitment to this WOE and you'll do fine.

Good luck

Rose
