Default carbs in yoghurt

Somewhere is some thread yesterday I read a reference to the carbs in yoghurt not being as high as listed cos the culturing process does something to them. Now I can't find that thread, and I have searched the site with no luck. I know this has been covered before but can anyone please enlghten me?
