Default L-Carnitine vs. L-Tyrosine

Hi, me again...

I've been reading "Living Low-Carb" by Fran McCullough (great book. BTW) and she really stresses taking L-Carnitine. Reading her description of the benefits of this suppliment, it sounds a lot like the L-Tyrosine I was recommended to take - it improves focus and energy as well as helps with fat burning. I was wondering if anyone has tried both and what they thought of either. I'm thinking of switching to L-Carnitine instead of the L-Tyrosine. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Tam

I recently finished "The Carnitine Miracle" by Robert Crayhon, and have been taking l-carnitine for about a month. My weight loss seems to have started up again, and I think I have more energy. He says to make sure you take a minimum of 500 mg a day, otherwise it may not be enough to have an effect.

Thanks for the feedback Ira! Unfortunately, I just did a price check on both suppliments and found that Carnitine is twice as expensive as Tyrosine! Since I already am taking some suppliments that are supposed to aid weight loss (green tea extract, etc.) then I'll just stick with Tyrosine for the time being unless I get caught in a stall. Even I can't need that much help loosing weight!
