Unhappy I fell real hard !

Well, yesterday was a bust completely. too busy to eat in the daytime, had 3 rye and gingers, no water til nightime. was painting all day...

Then we were bbq ing home burgers, and all of a sudden I pipped up and said, I want a bun too,, and Im gonna have a few chips and dip, and I did !. I dont know why, I just did it on a whim.

So, today, I feel ok, and im back on.

What happened,

Im especially mad at myself because on saturday I mad a low carb carb chilli also on a whim., took 10 minutes and was amazing, so why I flipped out on Sunday I dont know.

Im on my Tom too, maybe thats it.

Just wanted to vent.

Forgive yourself and start over.

Oh and don't worry about damage to your weight-loss. I cheated once, and it actually kick-started my weight-loss, which had slowed down to a crawl.

Hey - we all do it once in while. Well, maybe not all of us, but I bet most of us. Or some of us anyway. I know I did and probably will again. I'm planning on getting a nice loaf of crusty asiago cheese bread and dipping in olive oil and drinking red wine till I puke.

Default Quick Recovery!

Hey, Stallqueen: I've had days like that, too, but the important news is that you are back on track today. Remember: A one-day fall from grace isn't a disaster, and you can learn a lot of lessons from the experience. I always analyze my binges to figure out what went wrong. Typically, I let myself get too hungry and too tired and I lose it when I get within reach of the chips and dip!
Anyway, quick question: how do you make your chili? I'd love to know! Thanks.

This skill is back from the WW days. You probably know that in WW it involves journaling, and keeping track of points. I used a little notebook. In the BACK of that little notebook, I had a section called, "Lessons Learned". When I did a big "biff", I thought to myself, "what do I need to learn from this so it doesn't happen again?". Then, I would write that lesson learned in capital letters in the back of the book.

Default Don't feel bad!

I did this too! That TOM is fast
approaching and I didn't mean
to, I just started eating whatever
and then I couldn't stop.

I have started over again.
How I managed to lose a pound
is beyond me???!!!
I did stay busy though. I don't
think I sat down all weekend.

I hope that the two of us have
learned our lesson and can keep
it together this week!

Be blessed,
Tanya

I know how you feel. Sometimes I eat things and I know I should not have them but I do it anyways and feel mad at myself for doing so later.

I have been staring at three easter baskets full of the most awesome candy imagineable since easter and yesterday decided I was gonna have some of it. I decided if I was going to cheat I was going to get every craving out of my system in one day. I had 5 malted milk eggs, a cadbury creme egg, three cadbury mini eggs, a sugar cookie, and after dinner, I had a soft serve chocolate Ice cream cone with chocolate sprinkles served in a waffle cone coated on the inside with chocolate and rainbow sprinkles. Yay!!! I am happy I did it. I feel a lot better today and am back with the plan. I might do this every so often just to release the tension of yearning for it on a every minute basis. Just to mention, I did eat low carb at meals, relatively no carbs, so I don't feel I screwed up too bad.

Question

I have been doing Atkins for over 2 months now, and have never cheated, but I have had some VERY bad days, especially lately, where I would love to eat some bread and butter, a candy bar, and basically everything else in the house. I have often wondered if I can do this forever, and what will happen if I can't.

The thing that stops me cheating every time, is how bad I felt before I started this WOE, and the knowledge that nothing I put in my mouth is worth feeling like that again for. I have often wondered if anyone else feels the same. My question is this...have any of you that have gone off the wagon just for the day, felt physically bad afterwards and had any symptoms return because of it? I would really appreciate any info you could share.

I cheated my butt of yesterday and today feels like any other day. I think that if I were to get back into the pattern I was on before, I would feel bad, but today I feel great. I am not obsessing about those stupid easter baskets and I have only had some bacon and water today and I have already walked my 3 miles and I am good to go. Now, on Easter I ate some forbidden foods at lunch (mother in law paid $16 for me to eat at a really nice restaurant and I got my money's worth) and I crashed when I got home and felt horrible, so I guess it is all in how much you overindulge. I honestly am glad I got the obsession treated and I didn't go overboard either

Post starving & bingeing

One problem is that you didn't eat all day. What happens then is that your body becomes ravenous and once you start eating, you can't stop. Dr. Atkins' books all say that you need to eat at regular intervals, no matter what-even a chunk of cheese, a handful of nuts, depends on what stage you're in.

I like to have cheese readily available along with Atkins Advantage bars-and don't forget to drink you water-that really helps in the appetite/craving dept!

Just hop right back on the program, and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Default Me too!

People, I am so glad I am not the only one. My dh bday was yesterday and I started with homemade corn tortillas and ended with M&M's in bed. I won't even list the stuff in-between. It seems when I cheat I really go overboard and have all of the stuff I have been craving.

Anywho, I am back on today. I feel like crap but not guilty. I think birthdays and special occasions are okay for an indulgence.

What Happened? Here's what I think happened. You set yourself up to fail.

First you didn't take care of yourself during the day and then to boot, drank a significant amount of alcohol. Alcohol reduces one's ability to make good decisions and lowers inhibitions. It impairs judgement. Look at how bad you feel about eating what you did.

Now, stop beating up on yourself. You're back and hopefully learned a lesson about what not to do.

Farmgirl

Chilli was an accident sort of.

I always fry up hanburger meat and add low carb taco seasoning and eat with cheese on top.

I did this and added a couple of spoons of tomato paste, a few splashes of tobasco sause, a couple of teaspoons of steels bbq sause. (sugar free) I can of black soy beans, sone green pepper, 1/2 onion spring and simmered.
pepper and some onion powder,

It was very thick, juiceless really, very strong flavour, my dh had his wrapped in high carb tortillia breads, I ate mine in a bowl topped with shredded cheddar. It was so good and done in 20 minutes flat. By the lowest carb and sodium taco seasoning you can find, use it with tobasco to fire it up. some chilli pepper would work too, I didnt have any.

I will be making this a regular meal. Carb count is low, have not calculated numbers but by ingrediants, its low.

try it.

I have been good today, water and roasted chichen, some skin so far, im goona have a bowl of spinache soon with more chicken

dinner will be cheeseburger, broccoli and NO BUN.

Thanks for the support.

Exclamation THANKS!

I am soooooo glad I am not alone! I fell so hard on Friday, then again on Sunday! On friday I ate all by myself a 4" cake from the bakery, Icing and all. Then I had some roasted chicken, then I ate half of one of those HUGE iced chocolate chip cookies. Then on Sunday I had a steak with steak fries, peanuts, 2 BIG rolls, then later on I sat down with a half-gallon of ice cream and ate half of it right out of the carton! I feel like such a heel. I tried to analyze why I did it. I feel like this weight will never come off, it is taking sooooo long. I got mad. Oh well. Here's to getting back on the wagon and trying again.
