Post Tae Bo?

Has anyone on the Atkins Diet tried Tae bo for their workout? How was it and did you loose any weight?

I don't do tae-bo but I know people here do. Do a search of the exercise forums for tae-bo and you'll find lots of people who have tried it.

Default I use tae- bo!

Hi!
I have been incorporating Tae-Bo into my workouts for about 2 months now. I have to admit that I don't do it as often as I should but it is a GREAT workout. When I first bought the tapes I was unable to complete them. Now, because I have another tae-bo like class that I go to, I've built up my stamina. I can now do the basic and intermediate workout tapes. Because he doesn't do any specific ab work, I add in about 10 minutes of crunches after I do the tapes.

Anyway, if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask me.

Peace,
Star

I have been doing tae-bo for years (about 3) I saw results with it before L-cing and even more after. It is a great total body workout. I have done many forms of exercise (step, running/walking, aerobics, etc..) and with tae-bo I saw the quickest results. Not to mention it is so much FUN!!

Default Pros Cons to Taebo

I also did Tae-bo for years - it was an amazing and invigorating work-out. Not only did I see results but I also felt strong - like I could kick anyone's butt

I own many tapes and was at a point where I was breezing through the advanced tapes including the latest super-hard get-ripped series.

However I have toned down my passion for tae-bo for the following reasons:
Many of the work-outs do not have a good warm-up and cool-down in my opinion. Some of the moves can also be dangerous if you do not execute them properly - proper positioning is EVERYTHING with taebo and it is imperative that you are in the right position - it helps to work out in front of a mirror. Finally taebo is not the best choice of exercise if you have any medical condition that makes sharp, fast kick-boxing style movements dangerous to you (example lower back problems etc)

Overall this is my summary for Taebo:

1. It promises a lot, but it delivers a lot not because it is an amazingly superior work-out, but rather because it is fun to do and you are more likely to stick with it long-term. Billy Blanks is fun to watch and very motivational.

2. You can get the same results doing other work-outs - my favorite is Kathy Smith's weight loss work-out - I tone up even faster doing that one I believe and it is just as fun, but the program was better put-together with a better warm-up cool-down and safer moves. Killer work-out - not for a beginner - GREAT results. It is an older work-out but it delivers!

3. You won't necessarily lose more weight doing taebo - like any work out, it will help your weight loss, but at the end of the day the bottom line will be what you eat. However it WILL shape you up really good - you WILL see a difference in your arms, legs, butt, stomach etc in as little as 2 weeks of consistant exercise.

4. It is a GREAT work-out if you have no condition that makes it dangerous for you, you execute all the moves PROPERLY, and you have traditionally been bored with all the regular aerobics tapes out on the market. Taebo is definitely different, has many many different tapes for different levels of fitness and in order to keep your routine new, and it IS easy to get addicted!

Hope this helps!

Default Thank-you

Thank-you for the post Nike. I was doing Tae-bo for about a month or so, and I did see a difference, but I've slacked off, and stopped doing the workout. I started running 2-3 miles a day. So far, it's been working really well. I've lost 4 lbs. Once again Thank-you for your reply.

Frances
