Default low carb substitues?

I was wondering if any of the low carb substitutes are allowed for low carb meals. For instance would an Atkins bagel with 6 carbs be allowed for breakfast?
I got the book from the library and after checking the test, I answered yes to every question, I am considering moving to this plan. I am soo afraid of the cravings coming back. Those of you working this plan, can you honestly say that you can have a dessert with your balanced reward meal and not want to eat a box of cookies afterwards? I'd love to try it but an skeptical.

An Atkins bagel would not be allowed. Most lc substitues are not allowed because they will raise insulin levels. CADers cannot use net carb theory. We have to count total carbs

We have dessert all the time and don't have cravings for more. That is most CADers. Some CADers do have sensitivites to flour, sugar, AS or other ingredients that cause them to need to avoid them to continue to lose weight and not have cravings.

I will occasionaly use LC substatutes at RM such as the bagles for bagles with cream cheese and salmon.

For the CM's though the rule is no more then 4g total carbs I was told, and to try to stick to whole foods. I think sticking to whole natural foods helps no matter what diet plan you follow.
