12 lbs in three weeks is GREAT. You can't expect to lose every day, so a few days with no loss is nothing to be concerned about.

I also think you are doing great. Amazing results!!!
Make sure you're getting enough fat, don't be afraid to
butter those veggies. I find when I'm slowing down, I increase my fat intake.

Hi Nikki !

Hang in there, I started Atkins in Feb. The first two weeks of induction were great, I lost 12lbs. The third and fourth week I only lost a pound each but amazingly I went down a whole belt size. Now I am in week six. I have lost 3lbs per week for weeks 5 and 6.
To get things shaking up a bit I skipped a solid food lunch and did a Whey Isolate protein shake and an Atkins protein bar for a few days. Poof, my body kicked in and I started losing again.
It is nice to meet someone in the same time frame I am in

Keep up the great work and don't dispare. Great things are coming

Dusty

Nikki,

12 lbs in 3 weeks is an awesome start! If you read over the message boards you will see we all face stalls now and again. I have only lost 9 lbs in 5 weeks, but my clothes are looser, and I am losing inches. I attribute my stall to the fact that I am working out 6 days a week and honestly don't worry about it too much.

Just keep doing what you are doing. If you aren't tracking what you eat, you might want to skip over to fitday.com and track your calories/fats/carbs over there to see exactly what you are eating every day.

Best wishes to you!

Wicky

Hi Nikki -

Congrats on the weight loss! You are doing fantastic

It is very common to have a bit of a stall at weeks 3, 4 or 5. Don't worry, just keep doing what you're doing and you'll be losing again soon. Also, make sure to measure, you may be losing inches now!

Good luck!

Just to reinterate what everyone else is saying...12 lbs is great!! Don't worry, its just your body trying to catch up with you. You are going through what every one seems to go through in weeks 3 and 4. It will be over soon, and you too will be getting visits from the whoosh fairy, too. Just to be sure, though, have you added anything new to your diet this week? getting enough fat? I wasn't, and that is what stopped me cold for about 2 weeks. Now Im getting enough fat, and getting back on the right track!! You might want to try FitDay.com and putting your food in just to see if you are getting enough of everything! Keep up the great work!!

Cindy G- Everyone is right- 12 pounds is great!!!!!!! Is it your tom (time of month)? Mine was last week and I didn't loose weight for a week and then I lost 6 pounds like in 3 days, so that may be it!

Good Luck

This is normal. Your body is now needing a catch up period. You just shed 12 lbs! If you reread the book he says, it's common to stall after 3 weeks. BE PATIENT! This is a WAY OF LIFE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE - IT'S NOT A RACE.

no problem your doing great 12 pounds way to go!
make sure you drink alot of water and throw the damn scales out, this is how i measure loses now. buy the tightest jeans you can get into . then try them on once a week and you will see and feel the lose the scale can lie because water weighs more than fat. as the fat comes off water temp. replace it. your doing great!

damn lieing scales i hate em, they dont tell the whole story but jeans do. lol

Nikki, have you tried Oil of Oregano?

I've been on it 3 days now and I've lost 10 pounds. Not everyone loses this much so quickly but it's worked for me and I'm excited.

Talking Thanks

Thanks alot for all the great advice. I was getting frustrated that I wasn't losing all the time. I keep forgetting I didn't gain it all in a month, so it'll take time.
Nikki!
