Question Is it true?

Greetings to all from Australia! I read somewhere on this site that it is common for people to "stall" at the 3-4 week mark. This has happened to me and I was very discouraged, but all the posts I have read on this forum have been very encouraging - thank you! Is there any truth in this 3-4 week thing? (I have not "cheated").

I think many people pause in their weight loss right after induction. Your body is adjusting to the weight loss. I know mine did. My entire weight loss journey has been drop a pound or two, pause for a week or two, then drop again. As I have gotten closer to goal weight-I have noticed more ups and downs in my weight.

Also, my body either loses weight OR loses inches. When I get those pauses in weight loss, I generally lose inches. Make sure you get that tape measure out! Even on the weeks my weight seems to go up a pound or so-either my tape measure shows a loss or it stays the same. Just goes to show you that the scale is not the most accurate way to track progress.

The first week or so you lose some water weight, remember going into ketosis and visiting the bathroom all the time? In the following weeks, your body recoups some of its water. You are now losing fat but the scale doesn't register it because you are holding on to more water. If you measured yourself when you started, remeasure now. You will find that your body is shrinking (fat loss) even though the scale insn't changing. Have faith, eventually the scale will catch up!
