Default Hi from Minn

Hi everyone. I'm 3 weeks into the Atkin's plan and I've lost 16 lbs. This is a last ditch effort for me, I sure hope it works, nothing else has. I feel better than I have in years and really want to keep this up. The weight loss has slowed down a little now and I am worried about losing my motivation, any suggetions?

Not to worry! Your body needs time to adjust. It is very common to lose quickly, then lose nothing. Keep up the good work and the weight will start to drop, again.

Welcome!

Default Motivation

As a motivation I would reacommend you to read senior members' journals here. You will see, that even the most disciplined ones had days, weeks when did not loose weight or even gained weight. The average weight loss seems to be 1 lb/week.
(Sorry, I do not have exact data, only read literally hundreds of journals here.)

Something else. Hide you scale. Scale is the worst enemy of weightloss, because of the frustration it could cause. Use it once a week max. but once a month much better.

Measure yourself (waist, chest, hip, etc.) Have an exercise goal. It can give you much bigger success. You will be able to walk/run more or faster, to work out with higher weights etc.
Welcome here:-)

If this is your last ditch, make it your best effort! You have nowhere to go but up from here!

Atkins is not a matter of luck - it's a matter of math. If you stick to the plan, you WILL lose weight.

Just keep believing that there's a thin person inside of you just waiting to come out. Take it from someone who's lost over 100 pounds - It is definitely possible, and definitely worth the struggle.
