Talking Hello from Jaxgirl

This is just a short note to say Hi and introduce myself. I've been lurking for about a week now. This my second time around. A few years ago I tried the Protein power plan and did very well for about 3 mos then fell off the wagon. It was just so much easier to fall into old eating routines instead of making new ones. I also got tied of explaining to family and friends that I wasn't a freak and that I wasn't killing myself with all the red meat and fat I was eating. The 30 lbs I lost came back within months.
I just rationalized to myself that you're fat , deal with it . My weight had stabilized at 260 for 3 years. Then I quit smoking. Within 3 weeks my weight balloned to above 300. I was mortified.
I remembered how good I felt when I was on the protein power plan so I'm back. This time I have cleaned out the cupboards and fridge. My weakness is POTATO ( as in fries, chips, mashed etc) Bread goes moldy in my house. I don't have a sweet tooth. needless to say all the potatos are in the compost bin and I've been almost 2 weeks without a single potato chip ( YEAH !!!)

Well I have a few questions so I'll go over to the appropiate forum to beg for help. I look forward to getting to know you.

Jaxgirl ( AKA Jennifer)

Congratulations on your new WOE. Good job on getting rid of all the potatoes. I wish I could, as they are my weakness also, but everyone else in the house just have to have their Pringles and hashbrowns.

Since you've been hanging out I'm sure you already know how supportive everyone can be. This forum is the main tool that really helps me stay on track. You should consider starting a journal if you haven't already. Also check out FitDay.com. It's a great site that helps you calculate the stuff in your food, your exercise, your weight, lots of stuff, including a journal that you can keep private or make public.

Anyways, Welcome and Good Luck!
