Default Good Low Carb Site for goodies?

Hi, does anyone know of a website for decently priced items?? I wanna browse around for some of this stuff - flour, mixes, bars etc... I find that the Atkins stuff at stores in outrageous! Any tips on what to buy and where would be appreciated.

I don't know where to start with the cooking creativeness!!

Thanks!!

A good start might be netrition.com . They have a few banner ads here on the forums (might be one at the top of the screen now.)

From what I see they have a ton of LC products including the Atkins, but also a lot more. As for pricing, I'm not sure how they compare.

E-bay has quite a few Atkins & other low carb products at decent prices. Search for Atkins, then go to health & beauty. I also use the lowcarb warehouse through Yahoo, & they have decent prices too.

Thumbs up re: goodies

Another great site for goodies is "carbsmart". You have got to try Gram's Gourmet pork rinds!!! To die for!!!

Default Netrition

Someone beat me to it, but I have to say I've looked around quite a bit on the Internet and I think Netrition has some good prices. At least compared to my local health food store. I have ordered CarboLite candy from them in the past, and it is delicious! (but definitely only a once in a while thing... )

Good luck - let us know if you find anything good!

Default Keep it Simple

My advice: Go to the supermarket and buy natural foods; poultry, meat, fish, vegetables, olive oil, cheese, butter, cream. Eat those things cooked simply, with herbs and spices to maximize their flavors. Leave the articifial junk alone, except for perhaps some Thicken/No Starch, to make sauces with. Soy flour works too. You can spend a great deal of money on processed foods of all types and just be wasting carbs and calories. Count your carbs carefully and enjoy each meal.

Good Luck!

I agree in principle that it would be best if I stayed close to unprocessed foods altogether. However, since I'm pretty new, I seem to need to prove to myself that there is a low-carb version of just about anything I could crave, so I have been trying a wide variety of products.
Judy's sugar free (maltitol) nut brittles are exceptional. Greenbeanz online has pretty decent prices on the 10-oz. packages of Judy's coconut deluxe nut brittle and mixed nut brittle. Both kinds are out of this world. It's good to keep my consumption to a minimum, though, because it's easy for me to get more maltitol than my gut thinks is good.
Ditto on the Gram's Gourmet sweet cinnamon butter pork rinds. I was always grossed out at the thought of pork rinds but Gram's turned me around. You can also make them at home with plain pork rinds, cinnamon, Splenda & butter---yum.

Try Vitaglo.com too. They have the best prices on Atkins supplements, but I don't know about the other stuff.
