Default I felt like a slug....

I really messed up on Tuesday. It was a terrible day, and I broke down and had some carb stuff. It wasn't a total disaster, but yesterday (the day after), I felt horrible all day!!!! I work from home and since I've been doing Atkins, I've noticed that my concentration is so much sharper and my energy is higher. Yesterday, I could hardly get my work done. I just felt like a slug all day! I went back to induction levels, and already feel the difference today. I was back in ketosis this morning, so I guess I didn't do too much damage the day before. I hope this is incentive to keep me from doing that again. Anybody else feel horrible the day after consuming carbs??

Triplemom,
You found out you were human! So, you had a bad day, and then had a hangover. You know what, you're doing great because you just picked yourself up and went right back to doing what was right for you. That takes a tremendous amount of strength. Good for you! Keep on keeping on.

Hi Triplemom,

Yes, I have been there. Carbs give me a hangover similar to that of vodka. Sugar is the worst carbage of all.

Something that has really helped me along the way is journal extensive (graphically with all the detail) of what I ate and how it made me feel. The next time you are feeling weak around the carbs, you can pull out your journal and get a very clear picture of why you don't want to go down that road.

Best of luck to you! Paris

Thanks! This forum makes all the difference for me. When I lost almost 30 pounds on Atkins before, I had no support at all and just did it on my own (me and my book, anyway). This was a few years back during the negative press, so my family thought I was out of my mind. Now I have the support of my family and this forum, and it makes all the difference in the world! Good idea about the journal (now why didn't I think of that?) I think I'll post about my day yesterday right now and how crappy I felt!

Hi Tripletmom,

You found the error of your ways and are back on the wagon. Brush it off and just stay focused on your goal going forward. We all have times where the carbs call us and we are weak and give in. I've been there so many times. But you are right about how you lost the 30lbs before without the support of anyone and I totally agree with you. I find that visiting this site often I'm less prone to cheat.

Sorry for the rammbling, hang in there,
Dewi
