Question Help for a new member please

Hi, my name is Barbara and I am going on a lc diet as a support for my son. We have been on the diet now for two weeks, and while I have lost weight, my son has not. He has a condition known as pan- hypo pituitaryism, and is on thyroxin and cortisone.
He has been on other diets and not achieved much success, so this is our last hope. Can anyone suggest any tips or give us any advice, thank you.

Hi Barbara. As I do not know anything about your son's condition, I could not issue any advice (sorry). What about your doctor, might be best to talk this issue over with him? Hope all goes well
Cheers...Pam

Hi Barbara.

I am not familiar with your son's condition but I do know that cortisone will cause the body to hold onto water, and could make it difficult to lose weight.

Your doctor may be able to decide if and when he could get off cortisone or if there is an alternative treatment.

You could also try posting his menus and we could see if there are any suggestions we could make.

Beth, I have a question in more of a thought form. If the meds will cause his body to hold onto to water, there for not really moving on the scale, could he be at least losing inches? Assuming that he is in ketosis, then he would be burning fat. Maybe a better way to judge his progress would be with a tape measure and not a scale.

Like I said, more or less I am thinking out loud. I am not familiar with your son's condiction either Barbara. But I hope this works out for both of you.
