going through a slump
I started the Schwarbein Principle a couple of months ago. First of all, I didn't really understand the rationale behind her diet. I suppose she has lots of knowledge about nutrition and endocrinology, buy she doesn't deal with the emotional reasons why we eat. I don't believe any program can solve that problem, for the individual. i found that my craving for carbs in the beginning, was greatly curtailed and my sugars were under control. But now, after the novelty has worn off, I am once again eating more carbs than I should: For instance, I am eating a snack after dinner, as well as the 2 snacks I am allowed. I know I am supposed to be in the "transition" period and that healing can be very gradual, but how do I hang in there without becoming discouraged. Anyone "been there, done that" and can supply me with some encouragement. I am afraid I haven't yet mastered carbs. ie. which are legit. and how much is an acceptable amount. There is a lot of nutritional info. to absorb at once. Thanks, Dawn
